Send-off to a magical vacation

It was a special day at Charlotte Douglas Airport as they closed off terminal D for a special well-deserved send off.

A local charity gave families with terminally ill and chronically disabled children an all-expense paid trip to Walt Disney World.

Thirty-three kids were sent off to a magical vacation. And parents could not hold back their tears of joy.

Some found out as they arrived where they were headed. Most of the kids would declare this day the happiest of their lives.

Parents were just as thrilled to take the all-expense paid 5-day trip to "The Happiest Place on Earth," the kind of surprise they thought would never happen.

Radio hosts Ace & TJ have been surprising families with a trip to Orlando for more than a decade and they tell Fox 46 it's worth the months of planning and fundraising when they see the smiles and excitement.

The Ace & TJ's Grin Kids charity has been around for 15 years. It has given more than 300 terminally ill and chronically handicapped children and their families an all-expense paid trip to Walt Disney World.
