Small gator captured on Florida Polytechnic University's campus

- A small alligator was caught after roaming around a Lakeland school campus.

An officer with the Florida Polytechnic University Police Department is seen in cell phone video arriving in his golf cart at the scene of a small alligator on the Lakeland campus. The agency shared the video on its Facebook video on Thursday, writing “The little guy just wanted to go to class.”

The alligator was trapped, but not before trying to wiggle its way out of the trapper’s grasp. It didn’t work, and the officer placed it in the back of the golf cart.

There is no word on where the little gator was taken.
