Two dead after small plane crash at Peter O. Knight Airport

Two people were killed when a small plane crashed Friday at Peter O. Knight Airport on Davis Islands. 

The plane caught fire after crashing, sending a column of black smoke billowing into the air that could be seen for miles.  The two people aboard the Cessna died.

Officials say the plane had been taking off and heading to Pensacola.

The FAA is investigating the cause of the crash.
