WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. (FOX 13) - A snake caused a power outage that affected 1,600 homes in Pasco County on Sunday afternoon.
Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative spokesperson David Lambert told FOX 13 the homes lost power for about an hour after a snake ended up in their equipment.
Workers said a bird likely dropped the snake onto a breaker, which caused the outage.
Power has since been restored and the utility said it does not anticipate any further issues. The breaker will have to be replaced, which Lambert said could cost up to $80,000.
The snake did not survive.
