Someone shot 11 cars, caused thousands in damage, with BB gun
NORTH PORT (FOX 13) - Police say at least 11 cars in North Port were shot-up with a BB gun, causing thousands of dollars in damages.
Victor Rath’s car was one of them.
“I was pissed and I was tearing up a little bit,” Rath said.
According to North Port police, the rampage happened over a few nights, April 2 through 4, in and around Tropicaire and Ponce de Leon boulevards.
“It only takes one idiot or a couple people to cause a lot of mayhem,” said North Port Police Department representative Josh Taylor. “Caused a pretty significant amount of damage upwards of $11,000."
Allen Johnson’s SUV is in the shop now. The BBs will cost him nearly $800, out of pocket.
“It is crazy to think that many people are affected by this. I hope it gets rectified,” Johnson said.
Roth says whoever is behind this, needs to be taught a lesson.
“Why are they ruining other people's property? I worked so hard to get this car,” he said.
