Spread joy: Brandon man gives money to strangers

- Todd Simms went around Brandon on Wednesday, handing complete strangers cash.  Sometimes it was $5, sometimes $10; at other times, more.

"I've been enjoying meeting people, I've been enjoying just seeing people's elation," he said.

Sims says he recently came into more than $10,000.  He didn't want to specify how.  He says his family is financially secure, and he wanted to give it all away.

"If I can teach my daughter anything in life, it's to give and feel the joy of giving," he said.

Mike Nirscho was recently laid off and heading to a church for a hot meal. Simms gave him $100.

"This man didn't have to do what he did. This is one of God's children right here," he said.

"It is joy," Simms added.  "It's pure joy."
