As the city of St. Petersburg continues to battle the fallout from its sewage crisis, they’re taking an unusual step. Saturday morning, they will open the doors of its sewage plant s for the public to tour.

The city will open its North West and East treatment facilities. Tours will be given to those interested.

Mayor Rick Kriseman's office says this is just one of many examples of transparency as they gear up to spend millions to update the failing system.

Tours start at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. City officials recommend wearing tennis shoes.
