St. Pete police search for red tie-wearing bank robbery suspect

- St. Petersburg police are searching for a bank robber who wore a red tie as part of his disguise, they say.

On Wednesday, before 10 a.m., they say the suspect approached an employee inside the Chase Bank at 2755 Ulmerton Road, pulled out a gun and demanded money.

He fled with an undisclosed amount of money, police say, and as of Friday morning, they are searching for him.

The suspect is described as a white man between the ages of 25 and 35, about 5’8 feet tall, and weighing between 165 to 180 pounds. He has brown hair, and possibly a beard, police described.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department at (727) 893-7780.
