St. Pete police search for suspect in failed Cracker Barrel robbery

- St. Petersburg police are searching for a man who attempted to steal from a Cracker Barrel, they said.

Around 7 a.m. Monday, the unidentified man -- who they call the "Breakfast Bandit" -- entered the restaurant, located at 2151 54th Avenue North. Police said he demanded cash from the employee at one of the registers, but ended up leaving empty-handed.

Police said they obtained surveillance video, with a “really good look at his face.”

Anyone who can identify him is asked to call the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780 or text SPPD with your tip to TIP411.
