Stolen horses found in Sarasota County

- Authorities in Sarasota say the three horses reported stolen earlier this week have been found.

Deputies say Shooter, Velvet, and Spider were found in a pasture along Dog Kennel Road in Eastern Sarasota County.

It's not clear right now how the horses ended up there, but we are told they are safe.

The sheriff's office said someone took the horses from their pasture between Sunday around 4 p.m. and Tuesday around 2 p.m.  A possible suspicious vehicle was seen during that time -- a white dually pickup truck pulling a red stock trailer.

The disappearance raised serious concerns for the horses' owner, Michelle Gaster, because it happened two weeks after a horse in Manatee County was slaughtered, presumably for its meat.  No one has been caught in that case.

The investigation continues.
