Some homes in the Sulphur Springs area are getting some much needed attention as part of a beautification project designed to improve the quality of life for people living there.

Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is heading up the project along Waters Avenue with more than 120 volunteers from several organizations. They're working on 23 homes, painting, repairing fences, landscaping, installing new mailboxes and more.

The project's volunteer coordinator says the group wants to give the homeowners a sense of pride in their neighborhood, and they have another big project in the works, too.

"We're gonna be building 18 new homes for new homebuyers in Sulphur Springs on empty lots. It's a grant we received through the city of Tampa and we want people that are coming to look at those homes to be excited to come to this neighborhood," Volunteer Coordinator Jeremy Twachtman said.

The rebuilding Together Tampa Bay team said they work all year round and are always looking for volunteers or donation of materials to help with their projects.
