It may be hot outside, but it’s the perfect temperature inside the Tampa Bay Skating Academy at Tampa Ice, where kids of all ages are learning to ice skate.

The rink's summer camps are in full swing, and FOX 13 got an inside look.

Their instructor is four-time U.S. figure skating gold medalist Sarah Fuller.

“The kids are really learning the basic skating skills that you need to be really good as skating,” Fuller said. “Just to be there working with the kids and see them progress and see that same emotion is really awesome.”

All skill levels are represented and what they’re learning will be used both on and off the ice.

“With gymnastics and things like that, even soccer [and] football, coordination and balance [are] huge and we teach that here,” continued Fuller. “Skating is something that is good for everybody even adults everybody because you get a release from life doing it.”

Tampa Bay Skating Academy still has a couple of classes left before the end of summer. For information about those and Tampa Bay Ice's three locations, visit www.tampabayice.com
