Suspect sought in Tampa jewelry store burglary

- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a jewelry store burglary.

The crime happened overnight Monday at Safa Jewelry on Hillsborough Avenue.

Deputies said the suspect, a white man with a thick beard, smashed the store's glass using a tire iron. He injured himself in the process.

The man then jumped the counter and opened several drawers before stealing two cash registers.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office.
