Suspect takes cart full of Red Bull from Publix

More than $800 worth of energy drinks were stolen from the Publix on Land O' Lakes Boulevard and it was all caught by surveillance cameras.

Pasco County deputies said it's not the first time it's happened. Similar thefts have been reported by Publix locations in Hillsborough and Pasco counties.

"We believe they've had that same MO in other locations in Tampa bay area," explained Eddie Daniels with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

In this case, deputies said the person they believe to be female - but could be male - loaded up a shopping cart with 5 Hour Energy and Red Bull brand energy drinks and walked out the front door.

"The best guest at this point is they're definitely going to resell those items that they took," Daniels told FOX 13 News. "We can't imagine anyone consuming all that. At this point it looks like they're going to sell it."

They drove away, but deputies weren't sure in what type of vehicle.

The theft happened Friday, January 29. Two similar thefts in Hillsborough and Pasco were reported between Jan. 29 and 30.

The person was described as a white, male or female, with short brown hair and medium build. The person wore a white-t shirt, and dark shorts at Publix in Land O' Lakes.

They were seen wearing a blue t-shirt, dark hoodie, and jeans at another location.
