A trooper was hurt after a suspected drunk driver rear-ended the trooper's vehicle on Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the trooper was traveling southbound in the outside lane of I-75, just north of Interstate 4 and stopped as other traffic stopped. A 2016 Ford SUV, driven by 49-year-old Billy Lee Floyd, was traveling behind the trooper, and didn't stop. He collided with the rear of the patrol car, troopers said.

The trooper had minor injuries, and was transported to a nearby hospital. Floyd was arrested on a DUI charge. Troopers said his blood alcohol level was .162, which is almost twice the legal limit in the state of Florida.

One southbound lane was closed for at least an hour, with traffic backed up close to the Interstate 275 apex. The lane has since reopened.
