Suspects beat, rob victims lured with dating app

A popular dating website was used to lure victims into being beaten and robbed at a motel, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Two victims of the scheme have been identified, but investigators think there could be more.

Detectives said the victims both used a dating app called Plenty of Fish, to meet women, and both came in contact with a user who called themselves Jessica or Curvy_Cameron93. They spoke with Jessica through text messages, and both set up meetings at the Bayview Motel on Bayview Boulevard in Oldsmar.

One of the victims arranged to meet with Jessica just before 9 p.m. June 19, and the other set up a meeting at 3:30 p.m. June 24.

When the victims arrived at the motel, however, they did not find Jessica. Instead, they were met by two men who beat and robbed them at gun point.

Investigators later identified three suspects in the scheme: 21-year-old Charlie Woodley, 20-year-old Cameron Davis and 19-year-old Rachel Brown.

Woodley, Davis, and Cameron were arrested early Saturday and taken to the Pinellas County Jail.

Woodley and Davis were charged with two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon or firearm. Cameron was charged with one count of principal to robbery with a deadly weapon or firearm.

Anyone who may have also been a victim, or know of another victim of the three suspects in this case is asked to  contact Corporal Jeff Capra at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at (727) 582-6200.
