A Gulfport woman had quite the scare when a car slammed into her house Wednesday morning.

The car - a PT Cruiser, was stolen and the driver took off after the crash. Deputies said they are still looking for that driver and passengers who were with him.

The stolen car was speeding down Martin Luther King, Jr. Street when the driver lost control and crashed. Fortunately everyone inside the home was okay.

Danielle Weston was home when it happened. She said the loud crash woke her up.

"Quiet, nothing going on and then, all of a sudden, just craziness; glass everywhere," she said. "It was scary. They took out the stop sign and went through the window. It was just craziness," she said.

It happened around 1:45 in the morning.

"Our dogs usually sleep on the couch where the wall was hit. They were freaking out," Weston explained.

Deputies said there were there men in the car, and they didn't stick around after they crashed. Witnesses saw them take off.

"Turned out, the vehicle had been unlocked overnight and a spare key left inside the vehicle," said Sgt. Spencer Gross with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. "If the car was locked, this might not have happened."

Deputies are looking for the three suspects and asking anyone with information to contact the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
