Suspects sought in Tampa shooting between two vehicles

- Tampa police witnessed a shooting between two moving cars, and are now searching for the suspects involved.

Officers were patrolling the area in the 3700 block of West Columbus Drive when they noticed a gold Kia Sedona minivans appearing to chase a small gray sedan, they said. Occupants inside the Kia were firing several gunshots toward the sedan.

According to the Tampa Police Department, the officers tried to stop the Kia, but it fled. Police tried to pursuit it but the vehicle eluded them. Shortly after, the Kia was found abandoned in the 2900 block of West Ivy Street. Inside were two firearms, police said. It’s unclear if the weapons were used in the shooting.

The gray sedan that was fired upon has not been located, police said. They also believe no one was injured.

Detectives are hoping to identify the occupants inside the Kia.
