SUV hits parked car, home in Clearwater

- Clearwater emergency crews said an SUV hit a parked car - with someone inside - and landed on the front porch of a home on David Avenue Monday afternoon. 

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to the accident around 1:40 p.m. in the 300 block of David Avenue, just north of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard.

Police said a Cadillac Escalade veered out of control and hit a parked Honda Accord at 312 David Ave.

A man was inside the car, cleaning it, and was not injured.

The SUV went through the front yards of two other homes and ran into the front porch of 320 David Ave.

The driver, 44-year-old Elton John Garcia, was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment after the accident. 

Clearwater firefighters had to stabilize part of the porch structure after the crash.
