SUV slams into Spring Hill home

A man and a baby were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after an SUV slammed into a Spring Hill home.

Emergency officials say the SUV slammed into the home on Pinehurst Drive just before 3 p.m.  The driver, who declined medical attention, told firefighters she had lost control of the vehicle before hitting the house.

There was a light rain in the area at the time, officials said, but deputies were still investigating the cause of the crash.

The SUV came to rest halfway into the living room of the home, occupied at the time by a man and his 1-year-old child.  Both were taken to Spring Hill Hospital for evaluation of what fire-rescue officials called minor injuries.
