TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - The Tampa Bay Area is home to over 2.7 million people, and Jarron Webster wants to meet as many of them as he can. Webster has made it his mission to meet one new person each day and listen to their story, then share those stories on social media.
“There’s a lot of good people in the world and I think that we should recognize as many of them as possible,” he said.
The Kentucky native, also known as “The Tampa Bow Tie Guy," started sharing those stories by using the hashtag #1PersonEachDay.
“The videos are 60 seconds," Webster explained. "I really sat down and did my best to get to know this person and to learn about them because even though I’m doing this for other people, I’m doing this for myself.”
Webster’s video logs vary in topic, but always feature a unique story with a different Bay Area resident. He asks each new acquaintance two questions:
“What is a life lesson you could pass on to somebody else?”
“What’s one of your favorite quotes?”
He shares their answers with his social network, in an effort to spread more positivity.
“There’s a lot of negativity going on right now," he said, "and you can go on Facebook or social media, and you can see a negative story so quickly, but I just want to put more positive vibes, more positive energy, into the world. Hopefully, you listen to it, watch it, take something from it, and share it.”
