Tampa man wins $1 million from lottery scratch-off

A 60-year-old Tampa man claimed $1 million after scratching a winning ticket he bought at Circle K on Memorial Highway.

The Florida Lottery William Farrell won the prize in the $10,000,000 FORTUNE Scratch-Off game and chose to take a one-time, lump-sum payment of $792,000.

Farrell told lottery officials, "this is no April Fool's Day joke, this is real, very real."

The lottery said the $25 Scratch-Off game launched on February 23 and features more than $623 million in total cash prizes. Overall odds of winning are one-in-2.88.
