Tampa police searching for hit and run driver

- Tampa Police have identified Saturday night's hit and run victim as 44-year-old Michael Bladen of Tampa, as they search for the driver that hit him.

Family members say Bladen left home shortly after 8 p.m. to meet up with friends at a home just a few blocks away, but Bladen never made it.

Tampa Police say someone hit Bladen as he rode his bike along Interbay Boulevard near 6th Street, and then drove off. The fatal hit and run has left Bladen's friends and family wondering who could show such little regard for another human life.

"He's not just some piece of trash that you hit and run off and leave," said Cynthia Luckey, Bladen's aunt who helped raise him.

Tampa police say they're still searching for a suspect and have not yet released a vehicle description. Anyone with information should contact the Tampa Police Department: (813) 231-6130.
