Teen killed by falling granite at Tampa business

- A teen was killed when granite fell on top of him at a business in Tampa, Florida.

Around 3:30 p.m. New Year's Day, deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office were called to Galaxy Granite and Cabinets at 1618 51st Street South for reports of a "person down."

When they got there, first responders found a 16-year-old male underneath "multiple granite pieces that appeared to have fallen on top of him."

The teen had died before first responders arrived, HCSO said.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was contacted because the incident was work-related.

Investigators said no foul play was suspected.
