Thousands of kids search for eggs in massive hunt

Children in Clearwater celebrated Easter with a massive Easter egg hunt at Coachman Park.

More than 30,000 candy filled plastic eggs were placed throughout the park, along with another 50,000 pieces of candy

Thousands of kids quickly charged across the grass to fill their bags.

Those who were lucky enough to snag one of the 250 golden eggs got to take home a stuffed bunny.

“We want kids and families to enjoy themselves, be outside, enjoy this gorgeous weather, this gorgeous park, and so that’s why we do this,” said Pam Ryan Anderson, a volunteer. “Ron L. Hubbard said love and hug children and that’s what we do, we put on events for kids.”

This is the 24th year for the event put on by the Clearwater Community Volunteers, the city of Clearwater and the Church of Scientology.

There were also pony rides, face painting, a giant slide, and of course pictures with the Easter Bunny.
