Deputies investigate double murder-suicide in Brandon

- Three people were found dead in a Hillsborough County home today in what deputies suspect was a double-murder and suicide.

Investigators found the bodies at a home in Brandon on Hickory Creek. Deputies were preparing to turn the bodies over to the medical examiner's office after waiting all day Friday to get a search warrant to go in and do this most extensive part of the investigation.

Deputies were called by someone concerned that an occupant of the home did not show up for work. Deputies went inside and found three adult bodies but have not said who they are or what gender they were. That’s when deputies applied for the search warrant to do the rest of the investigation.

Deputies have said this appears to be a double murder followed by a suicide.

Neighbors were horrified to hear what happened.

“I came out and there were helicopters going over, and I thought someone had just died naturally, but it doesn't look so natural now,” a neighbor told us.

Deputies say they have no records of calls for service to the address in the last year. They have not said whether the homeowner lives in the home or if it is used as a rental.
