Tornado causes significant damage in Cape Coral

- A tornado caused significant damage to several homes in Cape Coral on Saturday.

Authorities said the EF2 tornado touched down around 7 p.m.

Photos from the area show power lines and trees down, as well as homes and vehicles with heavy damage.

There are thousands of residents without power, according to officials.

Fortunately, no major injuries were reported.

Crews began efforts Sunday morning to restore power and clean up the debris.
