TPD arrests 4 in connection with Ybor City carjacking

- Tampa police say they have arrested four people in connection with a man being carjacked while stopped for coffee in Ybor City Friday morning.

Surveillance cameras caught the carjacking outside the Ybor Coffee Shop, located at 3401 N 15th Street, at 5:45 a.m. Friday.

Police say there were two armed suspects at the scene of the carjacking. The two men came up to the man who was sitting in his car at the coffee shop, hit him in the head with a gun, took his cash, and then took off in his car, police said.

TPD confirmed Friday night officers had arrested four suspects who they believe were involved in the carjacking.

The four were arrested after a short pursuit ending when the car was crashed into a fence in the area of 30th and Garrison in Grant Park.
