Trapper removes alligator perched on driveway

- A New Smyrna Beach resident of Sabal Lakes heard a knock on his front door on Tuesday night and was surprised to discover that the visitor was reptilian in nature.

A trapper was contacted and removed an alligator that measured at five feet.  In accordance with Florida law, it had to be trapped.

"Remember to be observant of all wildlife as we share the state with them," the New Smyrna Beach Police Department says. "Most all wild animals will avoid people. But it is always better to be safe."
