Tree-trimming scam 'plaguing' Hernando County, sheriff says

There have been individuals going around Hernando County offering tree trimming services, however, the sheriff says it is most likely a scam.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday of a “tree-trimming scam plaguing” the county. Detectives said they have received reports regarding people being hired but leave behind incomplete work once they have been paid.

When they are paid in full, the individuals perform little or no work at all. Detectives said they then make up an excuse to leave, but never return to the victim’s home.

Anyone who has been a victim is asked to contact the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office at (352) 754-6830.
