Roads closed in Brooksville after trailer hits overpass

- Part of northbound I-75 and the westbound lanes of SR 50 in Brooksville will remain closed for at least 24 hours after a tractor trailer struck the overpass.

Authorities said a flatbed trailer was carrying a backhoe that struck the overpass around 4:30 p.m.

Concrete and other debris were strewn across SR 50 after the collision. The Florida Highway Patrol said the overpass was heavily damaged and needs to be repaired.

Only one northbound lane of I-75 has reopened. Troopers said SR 50 remains closed.
