Truck, equipment stolen from family-owned lawn service in Pinellas

Largo police are investigating after a local lawn care service reported a truck and commercial trailer were stolen from its property on Southview Road.

The lawn business is owned by Susan Lewis and her husband. They run the business out of their home and had both the trailer and truck parked in their driveway until Saturday morning.

Lewis says they woke up and noticed the vehicle and the attached trailer were gone. She says the trailer was home to thousands of dollars of professional lawn equipment.

"[It's] your whole life, your business. It's just going to be hard to try to recoup this," said Lewis.

The couple says they are now out nearly $40,000.

"It makes me feel violated. It makes me feel terrible. I've lived here and this is a decent neighborhood and I just can't believe this would happen to us," Lewis said.

Largo Police responded and gave the Lewis' a report number. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
