Bonnie Dunlap is understandably shaken up.

Wednesday afternoon, while she slept, a truck came crashing into her apartment at Cedar Acre Villages in Hernando. There was no warning.

“I woke up while it came crashing through the apartment,” she said. “You know it tore down the whole building.”

Hernando deputies tell FOX 13 the crash was an accident and have not filed any citations. Property Manager Kathleen Mcilwain was outside as it happened.

She says the driver of the Toyota Tacoma was visiting another tenant.

”She hit the tree over here backing up, put it in drive to go forward, something transpired with the gas pedal, and she went flying thru the building,” Mcilwain recalled.

“Something hit my foot I don’t know if it was a tire or what,” said Dunlap.

It was like something out of a nightmare only this time it was real.

“God has us that's all I have to say,” said Bonnie’s fiance, Michael Borders.
