Two arrested, charged in suspected meth lab

A police drug investigation uncovered a suspected meth lab in Clearwater Wednesday night. The investigation happened inside the Capri Mobile Home Park on U.S.19. According to Clearwater Police, authorities received information about possible drug activity. One home required evacuation.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s office and Clearwater Fire Rescue worked overnight to secure the scene and process evidence early Thursday. Investigators collected materials consistent with those used to make meth. A Clearwater Police spokesperson tells Fox 13 the investigation “revealed a small effort to produce meth.”

Authorities arrested and charged 45-year-old Pedro Ruiz with unlawful possession of listed chemicals. A second suspect, 47-year-old Timothy Schultz, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
