Two shot during home invasion at marijuana grow house

- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said two people were shot during a home invasion Saturday night.

Shots were fired shortly before 11 p.m. at a home on Dew Drop Lane in north Hillsborough County.

According to investigators, the pair tried to break into the home when an occupant opened fire on them. Deputies said both men were shot and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Once deputies started investigating, they realized the home was being used as a marijuana grow house.

Investigators said they got a search warrant to go inside the home. Shortly before 8 a.m., detectives started taking out marijuana plants.

The shooter fled the scene before deputies arrived. The incident is under investigation.
