U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist To Address School Safety In Pinellas

- U.S. Representative Charlie Crist will discuss school safety Monday morning in Pinellas County, according to a news release.

Rep. Crist is scheduled to visit Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg at 9 a.m.

Pinellas County School Board Chair Rene Flowers is expected to join Rep. Crist during his visit.

Together, they will address current school-security measures, as well as any additional needs that could help keep students safe.

Their visits will come nearly three weeks after a deadly mass shooting occurred at a school in Parkland, Fla.

Seventeen people were killed, and several others were hurt, when a gunman opened fire inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14.
