If you've gone to any event in downtown St. Petersburg you know finding a parking spot can be rough.  The Vinoy Hotel is pushing a project that would help improve downtown parking, but voters have to approve the measure.

Developers are wanting to build a single-story garage where the Vinoy’s tennis courts are currently located.  The tennis courts would then be relocated to the roof of the proposed garage.

It would be privately funded, not putting any burden on the taxpayer and open to the general public.

City laws say voters would have to vote 'yes' through a referendum vote approve the project. The measure will be on the ballot in the November 7th city election.
