Warrant issued for Ruskin woman in deadly wrong-way crash

- A woman is wanted for vehicular manslaughter after Florida Highway Patrol troopers said she hit and killed a man while driving the wrong way on U.S. 41.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016. FHP said 56-year-old Jean Ann Petraits, of Ruskin, was heading south in the northbound lanes, just north of Bayshore Road, when she hit 32-year-old Rodney Bell's vehicle almost head-on.

Bell, who is from Riverview, died from his injures. Petraits was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.

Now, FHP is looking for Petraits, who is wanted for the vehicular manslaughter charge. She was last seen in St. Augustine during the last week of June.

FHP said anyone with information about where Petraits may be is asked to call (813) 631-4020.
