WATCH: Soldier surprises kids in tearful homecoming

- She was away since February at basic training, but early Friday, her children got a huge surprise at school.

Their mother, Morgan Hataway, showed up at Edgar Padgett Elementary School in Lakeland!

First, Hataway made her way into her son Preston's kindergarten classroom. "Mom!" he yelled before running to embrace her. Hataway, with tears running down her face, finally pauses. "Hey," she says, smiling, after long, big hugs.

The two packed up and went to a second classroom to surprise her other son, Joseph, who's in the 5th grade.

As she makes her way into the classroom, she and Joseph make eye contact and he runs to her. There wasn't a dry eye in the room!

Hataway has been away at basic training for the National Guard.
