Wildfire near Hwy. 630 in Polk Co. contained

RIVER RANCH (FOX 13) - Polk County Fire Rescue and the Division of Forestry battled a wildfire in the area of River Ranch and Indian Lake Estates Saturday.

Officials said the fire was moving towards Highway 630, which is shut down between Highway 60 and Walk in Water Road for a time Saturday evening.

The road has reopened, but officials said there was still heavy smoke in the area and to use caution.

Polk Fire Rescue says no structures were harmed. Crews protected 10-12 homes from the spreading flames.

Smoke is expected in the area overnight and into the morning.
