A window washer has been rescued after his rope stopped working 13 stories high outside a Clearwater building.

Rescuers were called to the scene at 440 Gulfview Boulevard, which is listed as a condominium on the beach.

City officials say the window washer was working on windows as high up as the 13th floor, when his rope system somehow became inoperable. He was not injured, but stuck.

Crews were eventually able to break a window and pull the man inside.
