Woman arrested after children found in deplorable conditions

- St. Petersburg police said they have arrested a woman after two children were found living in deplorable conditions.

Police said they responded to Chyanne Davis' apartment after receiving reports of a child crying inside.

When officers entered, they found the apartment to be in deplorable living conditions. Investigators said the apartment was filled with rotting garbage, soiled diapers, roaches and flies.

The children, a 2-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy, were both covered in feces.

Police said Davis was found in another room sleeping. Officers believe she has been leaving the children alone to work overnight at a fast food restaurant.

Davis is facing two counts of aggravated child abuse.
