Woman dies in Zephyrhills shooting

- A woman has died following a shooting in Zephryhills.

Pasco County deputies are on scene in the 39800 block of Otis Allen Road after receiving a call before 2:30 a.m. in regards to the shooting.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, preliminary information indicates the 37-year-old victim, later identified as Brandy Contreras, threatened the resident with a gun. The shooting suspect told deputies he defended himself and shot her.
