Woman rescued from possible human trafficking

A woman was rescued from a possible human trafficking situation by detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Tuesday.

HCSO said members of the Special Investigations Division were conducting a prostitution investigation at the La Quinta Inn on U.S. Highway 301 N. There, they found a 32-year-old woman being held against her will and forced to perform acts of prostitution.

The man behind it, detectives said, was 30-year-old Brandon Jackson, who was found hiding in a locked bathroom with a loaded .380 automatic pistol. Investigators said they also found 190 grams of marijuana in the hotel room.

Jackson was charged with human sex trafficking, false imprisonment, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, and domestic violence battery.
