Long lines? Easy money

The only thing more annoying than sitting in traffic may be waiting in long lines. 

Meet the people in NYC who wait in lines so you don't have to.

Robert Samuel started his business Same Ole Line Dude, LLC or "S.O.L.D." in 2012.

He was waiting to purchase an iPhone and was able to sell his second spot in line for a couple hundred dollars.

That’s when he had an "aha" moment and started waiting in line professionally.

"I started doing research and seeing 37 billion hours are spent by Americans waiting in line. 37 billion hours, that translates into money," Samuel said.

S.O.L.D. currently has around 15 employees and on average waits in line for about 10 hours a week. 

Customers pay them to wait in line for a variety of things, such as, sneakers, cellphones, Target's Lilly Pulitzer collection, Chick-Fil-A, graduations, and their most consistent business, the Cronut.

The price for waiting is $25 for the first hour and $10 for each additional 30 minutes, which can translate into about $1,000 per week.

The professional line waiters pass the time by in different ways, “Netflix, Hulu, Showbox, Sleep, and a lot of candy,” employee Adonis Porch said.
