Bob Dylan wins 2016 Nobel Prize in literature

Bob Dylan is the winner of the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.” Dylan grew up in Hibbing, Minnesota.

This is the first time the prestigious award went to someone primarily seen as a musician. According to the Nobel Prize, Bob Dylan is the first Nobel Laureate since George Bernhard Shaw to have been awarded both a Nobel Prize and an Oscar.
