Officials identify victims in shooting outside Hamilton Mall

- Authorities in Atlantic County are continuing to search for those responsible for a shooting that left one man dead, and his brother injured.

The shooting happened outside the Macy's department store at the Hamilton Mall around 1:05 a.m. Friday morning.

Officers arrived on scene to find Demond Cottman and his older brother Shadi suffering from gunshot wounds.

Demond, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. Shadi, 26, was shot in the leg and remains in stable condition.

Authorities say the incident occurred about an hour after the Macy's had closed for the evening.

The Atlantic County Prosecutors Office is continuing to investigate as they search for a motive, and a suspect, or suspects.

Officials have not confirmed if the shooting had anything to do with Black Friday or Thanksgiving Night shopping or something else.
