Police: Man picks up girlfriend from jail in stolen truck

- Police say a man picked up up his girlfriend from jail in a stolen pickup truck.

Tempe police described the strange incident in a tweet sent out by the department on Monday morning.

 

The officer's vehicle was equipped with automatic license plate readers and it detected that the pickup truck was stolen.

According to police the driver told officers that he did not know the truck was stolen, he was arrested on an unrelated warrant.
