Protesters set trash cans on fire, and vandalized several businesses, and shattered store fronts on Broadway. KTVU reporter Christien Kafton reported a Wells Fargo Bank between 12th and 13th Streets was vandalized.

Several hundred protesters shouted anti-trump chants and scrawled graffiti.

Another group of demonstrators tried to block Highway 24.
During the demonstration, a female protester was hit by a car and suffered major injuries.
It happened about midnight, on the eastbound lanes of Highway 24, at the Claremont Avenue onramp.

There were about 200 demonstrators on the highway to the onramp.

It took the CHP about 15 minutes to clear the accident scene.
In San Francisco, demonstrators angry at the election of Donald Trump, also protested a GOP Party held inside the Twitter building in San Francisco.
About two dozen protesters, some masking their faces, gathered outside the building on Market Street at about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Security and police met them at the entrance.
A KTVU news crew covering the Republican Watch Party, needed an escort out of the building by security guards, because the situation was becoming unsafe.
Although there were heated arguments, there were no reports of violence or arrests.
A group with Occupy Oakland plans to hold a new protest at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Frank Ogawa Plaza, near Oakland City Hall.
