Substitute teacher accused of having sex with teenage student

A substitute teacher is accused of having sex with a teenage student at least one time at her home, according to an Orange County arrest affidavit.

Teachers at The Crenshaw School became suspicious of a possible relationship between 28-year-old Alicia Bromfield and a 16-year-old boy, and ultimately the Department of Children and Families was notified, the affidavit said.

In an interview with a DCF investigator, the student said he and Bromfield began by exchanging messages on Snapchat. The affidavit said that the messages included pictures of partially removed clothing, but none of either individual naked.

In early October, Bromfield picked up the teen from his home and drove him back to her apartment. According to the report, Bromfield gave the boy vodka and an “unknown Jamaican liquor.” While watching a movie, the affidavit said, the two had sex.

The affidavit said Bromfield drove the boy back home early the next morning.

According to authorities, another teacher provided a recording to investigators where Bromfield admitted to having sex with the 16-year-old.

Bromfield was arrested at her home and booked on charges of unlawful sex with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
